Glamour style and Italian excellence meet at the Mandarin Oriental, located in Blevio, a quiet and picturesque village on Lake Como. The resort is the perfect location for many events, and boasts a unique history marked by illustrious names: in the 14th century, Villa Roccabruna became famous as Casino Ribiere, named after its owner, Mrs Ribier, an eccentric seamstress from Paris, popular among French high society. In 1827 the villa was then bought by the famous opera singer Giuditta Pasta, who renamed it Villa Roda. Francesco Hayez then redesigned the portico, inspired by the architecture of Milan’s La Scala Theatre. Right here, in the past, artists of such calibre as Vincenzo Bellini, Gioacchino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, Stendhal and Alessandro Manzoni wandered through the gardens, and now you can relax at the Mandarin Oriental, surrounded by magnificent views of the lake and surrounding hills, in pure connection with nature. In the villa, which is considered the heart of the resort, the main services are centred, including the lobby, reception and conciergerie, historical salons with ancient ceilings and splendid frescoes, an American Bar and a 1,300 square metre spa. In the park you will find the private residences where personal chefs and butlers help create an oasis in which guests can enjoy every moment with family and friends for any important events.
