Generally, when people talk about wedding venues, we refer to luxurious villas by the lake or sea, beautiful hotels and historic churches. And then, there are those who want to create something really
special, something unique that will remain in the memory of those who attended forever. Allow me to tell you about a special couple of newlyweds who chose
Santa Caterina Valfurva, a jewel set in the
Alps, as the perfect location for their high-altitude wedding. And it was here, with the majestic and spectacular mountains in the background, that Antonella and Dario pronounced their vows in the snow.
A real dream!
The arrival of the bride went beyond all expectations and left relatives and friends, but above all the groom, speechless: no car, of course, nor a carriage, but a
sleigh pulled by beautiful
huskies took the bride to the altar. At the end of the touching and deep ceremony, the bride and groom, both passionate professional skiers in traditional dress, were honoured by their guests with the “
ski salute“, based on the more famous sword salute.
After a few photos in the snow, the bride and groom and their guests enjoyed an excellent aperitif and vintage wines in an exceptional location: an
igloo, a typical ice house. Dinner was served in a mountain hut, dominated by wood and the
white colour of
roses and
lisianthus, a perfect reference to the white snow, not forgetting the shower of candles that warmed the hearts and made the party atmosphere so much more cozier. Traditional and typical mountain food, lots of talk and wine enlivened a beautiful day full of love, joy and beauty.
To thank their guests, Antonella and Dario offered delicious
sugared almonds and a very special
favour that was much appreciated by relatives and friends: a custom-made paraffin candle with a green bow.
What can I say? Indeed a very evocative wedding that is one of our favourites ever.
